Large fire breaks out at apartment complex on Keltner Avenue

A large fire broke out at an apartment complex in Northeast El Paso Tuesday evening.

The El Paso Fire Department tweeted about the fire just after 6 p.m.

It happened at an apartment complex on the 3000 block of Keltner Avenue near Lackland Street.

Battalion Chief Sergio Ramirez said a man reported seeing flames and smoke at an apartment at the complex.

No one was seriously injured in the fire , Ramirez said.

Officials with the Red Cross said they will be assisting six families who were displaced by the fire.

A total of 13 units 36 firefighters were called out to the scene.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
