The Pay It Forward team is helping Flags Across America fundraise to install a new flagpole that was damaged.

“We started approximately about 20 years ago, back then I had a vision of trying to get a flag. This line was available, I thought how neat would it be to have a flagpole around here,” said Tony Lewis President of El Paso Flags Across America. “That vision became a reality, the land was approved.”

The original flagpole was installed in 2003 with volunteer donations.

The flagpole lasted several years for ceremonies and parades until 2020.

The pole had to be taken down for premature failure on the pipe and wealth.

Flags Across America is raising funds to get a new flag pole.

"This flag represents our country. It represents what our country is made of," said Michael Gopin.

"Bringing back the flag is a sign of country it means freedom and the meaning behind it is different for everyone but there's one unity and it stands for America. Having that flag fly so high is such a beautiful symbol," said Sandra Diaz.

There will be food trucks at the site on Wednesday fundraising from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

If you can't attend the event you donate on their website.
