Police identify suspect, victim from west El Paso shooting

The El Paso Police Department is looking for a murder suspect accused of shooting and killing a woman Sunday morning.

El Paso police responded to a shooting at an apartment complex in the 5400 block of Ridge.

According to police, a woman identified as 20-year-old Sylvia Guerrero was shot and killed.

The official call went out at 7 a.m.

The investigation revealed that that the victim's ex-boyfriend, identified as 22-year-old Zachary Adrian Zamora, broke into the apartment where she was staying and shot her before fleeing the scene.

Officers did a foot search of the area Sunday morning but were unable to find Zamora.

Zamora is wanted for murder and two counts of aggravated assault.

Zamora is described as 6 feet 3 inches, 190 pounds, short black hair, and brown eyes, small tattoo on his upper left cheek, and tattoos on both arms.

Police believe Zamora is driving a stolen dark blue Ford Ranger with Texas plates 8ZDC34 or a white Lincoln Town car with Texas plates HJD7530.

Police said Zamora is armed with a firearm and should be considered dangerous.
