Public input wanted for park improvements to vacant lot adjacent to Morayma Gonzalez Park
The City of El Paso is having a community meeting Thursday to discuss the improvements and expansion to Liz Morayma Gonzalez Park.
The park will be expanding into an empty lot off Radford in Central, El Paso and the city is using Thursday's meeting to get public input on what residents would like to see.
Though the type of improvements of the park have not been decided, a few of the options the city is already looking into are new water features, a walking path and a covered picnic area.
The budget for the park's expansion is $1.2 million. This money will go toward engineering, design and construction costs of the park.
The city tells us the park will bring new recreational services for both local and neighboring communities.
The meeting will be at 6 p.m. Thursday in the cafeteria at Hillside Elementary School.
