State trial for man accused of placing cameras in Cielo Vista Mall bathrooms dismissed

A man who is accused of placing a camera in public restrooms inside Cielo Vista Mall won’t be tried in an El Paso courtroom.

Irving Jose Marquez was scheduled to appear at the El Paso County Courthouse Wednesday for his trial, but didn’t after the case was dismissed June 5.

Marquez was facing charges of possession of child porn, invasive visual recording in bathroom and indecency with a child sexual contact.

The El Paso County District Attorney’s Office said the case was dismissed because Marquez was convicted in federal court.
