Trial continues for man accused in central El Paso murder
A jury heard testimony for a second day in Cortez Thomas trial.
Thomas is accused is accused of shooting 26-year-old Toris Deandre Knight outside of Players in Central El Paso in the early morning hours of August 5, 2015.
He is the second person to be tried in the murder.
Last year, a judge sentenced Paul Johnson to 40 years in prison for his role in the crime.
In court on Tuesday a former detective with the El Paso department testified that Thomas was brought to the department along with other witnesses, but was later placed into handcuffs when they realized he had an unrelated warrant.
Thomas is charged with 2 counts of engaging in organized criminal activity, according to court records.
