Two arrested in weekend DWI stop after drugs were found in the car

    The El Paso Police Department’s DWI Task Force has arrested and charged two men after a Saturday morning DWI incident.

    Police say Ruben Garcia, 43, was driving north on Paisano Dr. at 2:15 a.m. when he was stopped by officers for driving with a flat front tire on its rim.

    Officers placed him under arrest after further investigation found Garcia to be intoxicated and also found that he had six outstanding criminal warrants, according to police.

    According to police, officers also found .2 grams of cocaine in the vehicle, and placed the passenger, Hilario Granados, 53, under arrest and charged him with possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) under 1 gram.

    Both men were booked into the El Paso County Jail.
