A Washington Post report stated that U.S. Customs and Border Protection are planning on building a massive processing center in El Paso for asylum seekers.

In the report. Rep. Veronica Escobar said about 800 people can be housed on the facility and she said it would open by the spring.

The report stated the facility would help reduce the time families spend in small holding cells after being taken into federal custody.

The facility will most likely be where the Hoover manufacturing center was closed, according to the report.
