Woman says she woke to burglar holding her purse, jewelry box
A West El Paso woman says just after 3 a.m., an unwelcome guest made his way into her home on Caprock Court and Purple Hills Way.
She said she woke up in the middle of the night and saw the man holding her purse and jewelry box in his hands.
She began to question who he was and why he was in the house.
He told her to be quiet and nothing will happen to her.
She told CBS4 the man immediately ran out of the house and slammed the door.
This woke David Rivera up who lives right across the street. He says this troubling experience is a wake-up call for the entire neighborhood.
“People up-and-down this neighborhood they don't want their cars there's people that don't lock the doors to this day that's amazing to me,” Rivera said. “But guess what that all changes. that's gone. so all of our neighbors got together we both spoke and we're going to be vigilant About this this is we're not playing games."
Neighbor told CBS4 police shut down their block and the adjacent street as they conducted their investigation.
