President Trump mocks Beto O'Rourke's hand movements

President Trump criticized former Texas Congressman Beto O'Rourke for his hand gestures after O'Rourke announced he will run for the Democratic nomination for President in 2020.

"I think he's got a lot of hand movement. I've never seen so much hand movement. I said is he crazy or is that just the way he acts? So I've never seen a hand movement. I watched him a little while this morning doing ... I assumed it was some kind of a news conference ... and I've actually never seen anything quite like it. Study it. I'm sure you'll agree."

Trump met with Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar in the Oval Office of the White House, Thursday.

A reporter in the room asked, "Who is a bigger threat, Beto or Biden?"

"I just say whoever it is, I'll take them on, ok? Him or her.... Whoever it is I'll take him or her on."

After speaking to room full of people at a sandwich shop in Burlington, Iowa, a reporter asked him about Trump's remarks.

"President Trump made fun of your hands today. What do you have to say to that?

"I have nothing to say to that. I think people want us to rise above the pettiness, the smallness. They want us to be big, bold, ambitious for this country. That is what I am focused on . That is why I am here today in Burlington."

O'Rourke announced he was entering the race Thursday, joining a vast pool of Democrats hoping to take on Trump in 2020.
