EL PASO, Texas (CBS4) — Halloween is three days away and many families have had a tradition of going to La Union Corn Maze to the pumpkin patch.
The Pay It Forward team partnered with the La Union Corn Maze to make that possible.
“We really thought it was a great idea when we were approached to help with this Pay It Forward. Michael Gopin does this every year at different venues. We’ve sponsored 50 families to come to the maze and pick their own pumpkins,” said Lucy Sondgeroth with La Union Corn Maze.
“We know some families are struggling, so we thought what a great way for at least 50 people to come and get their pumpkins for their kids, get some fresh air, get out of the house, and have some sort of normalcy,” said Sondgeroth.
“Thank you, Michael Gopin for paying it forward so we can come and pick pumpkins. We did it last year and it was a blast,” said a woman. “It was great to be able to come out here with the struggle of COVID-19.”
