EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — The El Paso County Coliseum has made several updates and changes to improve its facility.
The first thing that was changed was its website.
“We completely redesigned the website, so its https://epcountycoliseum.com,” said Tony Rodriguez the director of events at the El Paso Sports Commission of El Paso at the El Paso County Coliseum.
The coliseum also changed to LED lighting.
“That’s going to save a lot on electricity. So we changed all our lights inside to LED. That’s a big game changer for us in being energy efficient," said Rodriguez.
The concession stands now have digital boards.
The coliseum also added some murals to the backstage area.
The murals were done by Chicago Rivera and Richard Zamora.
“The one the ideas was let’s paint some murals of people who have been here. So that way artists can see and say ‘I’m performing here where Selina performed or Elvis or Johnny Cash," said Rodriguez. "It adds color it, it adds life to it."
The coliseum also added five dressing rooms.
“That helps especially when you have big events such as Disney on Ice, Grupo Firme who has a lot of the band members, we have 11 dressing rooms in total," he said.
The coliseum also added an electric charging station outside thanks to a grant.
