EL PASO, Texas (CBS4) — We're entering the last few weeks of summer, but there's no short supply of things to do across the Borderland.
Just over an hour drive from El Paso, you'll find yourself at White Sands National Park, and it's not just a spectacle during the day.
This weekend will mark one of the last of the summer for the park's extended hours as they celebrate Full Moon Nights.
This Saturday, Sept. 10, the park will stay open until 11:00 p.m. for guests to view the full Harvest Moon.
Normal park entry fees apply, and make sure to bring chairs or blankets to sit on.
The final Full Moon Nights of the year will take place on Oct. 10, 2022. In addition to viewing the moon, local recording artist, Randy Granger, will perform at 7:00 p.m.
Also happening at White Sands, the White Sands Balloon and Music Festival.
The three-day festival will take place Sept. 16-18, 2022, complete with music, games and hot air balloon rides.
The first two days of the festival (Friday and Saturday), will take place at the Ed Brabson Balloon Park.
Balloons will lift off from White Sands on Sunday, Sept. 18 at 7:00 a.m.
