Walkoff flies Red Birds over Chihuahuas in extras; PCL Championship heads back to El Paso

MEMPHIS, Tenn (CBS4) -- The Pacific Coast League Championship comes to El Paso on Friday with the Chihuahuas hoping to repeat as champs by winning all three home games.

Game 2 finished with the Memphis Redbirds winning 2-0 over the Chihuahuas in extra innings.

The teams went scoreless through the first 10 innings until the Redbirds hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the 11th.

Both starting pitchers were excellent Thursday, as Bryan Rodriguez tossed seven shutout innings for El Paso and Memphis righty Kevin Herget threw eight.

Herget struck out 15 Chihuahuas, almost twice as many as his previous season high of eight. The Redbirds struck out 20 Chihuahuas Thursday.

El Paso did not have a runner reach second base in the game.
