Americas outfielder drafted by Boston Red Sox

For the 4th time in 8 years, a player from Americas High School has been chosen in the Major League Baseball draft. Outfielder Adrian Torres was chosen by the Boston Red Sox Wednesday. Torres was taken in the 33rd round (1000th player overall). Torres batted .462 with 9 home runs and 49 RBI's this past season.

Torres was the District 1-6A baseball MVP this season and led the team to their 4th district title in 5 years. Former AHS players chosen in the draft are:
