From Carlos Corrasco to Mike Clevenger to All Star Weekend, Jonathan Hrusovsky has made cleats and gloves for some of the MLB's top talent.
“Carrasco, he was a pitcher for the [Guardians] at the time and I messaged him on social media and I said what I was intending to do,” said Hrusovsky. “And from that day forward, that's how I kind of got started so he sees in the clubhouse other teammates see it agency and then it just blossomed from there.
This week he brings his talents together with Powerbull Bat Company, an El Paso based bat company that also has some clients in the majors. They got MLB certified in 2019 and their bats are all hand made right in the shop.
“We have a few players in the big leagues under contract with us,” said Powerbull’s Raul Salazar. “So that's been great, you know, to see the bats get to the hands of players playing in the best baseball in the world.”
Hrusovsky is transforming one of their bats for a good cause, with the help of the Chihuahuas.
“So all partnering together to auction off a bat and the Chihuahua designs, got the Chihuahua logo, the Chihuahua font. It'll have laces on their baseball laces, and it'll all be tied in to Chihuahua theme, and the ideas for the Chihuahuas to auction it off and all proceeds will go to a charity of their liking.”

At Powerbull right near downtown, they've even got a batting cage right inside the shop. Allowing those to get some swings in before and after the make a purchase.
“That's the real fun part of it and a unique part of it. Because usually at a store, you could just get it off the rack and you kind of feel it. And once you purchase it, you know you're out, you're out the door with it. So here you can try models and we'll work with anyone, from a five year old kid to a professional baseball player to get the right bat in your hand.”
Hrusovsky is also designing a bat that will be used in the Little League Classic between the Boston Red Sox and Baltimore Orioles on August 21st.
