EL PASO, TX(CBS4/KFOX) — El Paso and Ysleta independent school district have a difference of opinion surrounding fan attendance at high school sporting events.
EPISD is not allowing any of its sports teams to compete at any YISD indoor gym because YISD is allowing fans to attend.
The announcement came Tuesday hours before three volleyball games were canceled that featured EPISD schools playing at YISD campuses.
The three big school districts in El Paso had previously agreed to allow essential personnel only into sporting events until further notice. Last Friday, however, YISD allowed two parents per athlete to attend volleyball games.
EPISD doesn't agree with letting fans in yet, so EPISD schools will not play at YISD schools until further notice.
Both EPISD and SISD are sticking to their plan to monitor the Coronavirus cases in El Paso. They say they will make a decision on fan attendance when they feel the time is right.
