As a child, I loved talking to random people and asking them questions. Mixing that with my constant need to be in front of the camera while my mom recorded home videos made it natural for me pursue a career in broadcast journalism -- but I would not know that until high school. I was in the middle of my junior year of high school when I met my production teacher (who remains a mentor of mine today), picked up a camera of my own for the first time and discovered my passion for journalism.
Born and raised in Houston, Texas, I stayed in the Gulf Coast region to attend Sam Houston State University. Eat ‘Em Up Kats! In December 2018, I graduated with a degree in mass communications, emphasizing in multiplatform journalism, and a minor in political science.
I spent the spring of 2018 learning from the legendary journalists in the KPRC/Click2Houston newsroom in Houston, Texas. It was my first time being in an active newsroom, and I knew journalism was my calling. In the summer of 2018, I packed my bags and moved to San Antonio, Texas, to intern with the ABC affiliate there, KSAT12 News. I made lasting relationships and had the best time within the walls of that station.
Less than two weeks after graduating from college I accepted a position at KFOX14/CBS4. The culture and history within El Paso and Las Cruces, the beautiful scenery and the passion in the newsroom brought me here.
I am a proud alumna of the Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity. In my free time, I enjoy exploring the outdoors, setting new personal records on long-distance runs, cooking new recipes and taking food journeys in my new city (send me some of your favorite places to eat!).
I am here for the people of El Paso and Las Cruces – to be a voice for the truth and what matters in the Borderland.
